Infants
We know how difficult it is to leave your precious infant in someone else’s care. We offer individualized education and care with qualified teachers that understand your child’s personality and needs. The curriculum that is offered promotes your child’s emotional, social, motor, and cognitive development. By separating our infant rooms into “movers” and “non-movers” we are able to provide activities geared for each age group. Our Baby Signs program is introduced as a way to help our babies communicate their needs. As earlier signs are mastered, more signs are introduced into their signing vocabulary. Teachers will work one on one to increase skills, provide snuggle time when needed, and enhance development as a group in order to ease the transition from home to school.
Toddlers
As your child moves up to our toddler rooms, he / she will be surrounded by learning opportunities. From flannel board and sensory activities to small manipulatives and file folder games, learning is presented in a fun and child-friendly way. The Baby Signs program is continued and language skills are emphasized. Social butterflies that they are, toddlers are taught positive ways to interact with their friends. Table manners and self-help skills are learned as children eat in our lunchroom. The theme-based curriculum allows children to grow at their own pace and be challenged when necessary. Your child’s motor development will be challenged from the first wobbly steps to learning how to kick or throw a ball. Our loving teachers will care for and nurture your child during their time at Stepping Stones Learning Center.
Preschool
Where else can your child receive quality care while at the same time attending a preschool program with highly qualified teachers? At Stepping Stones Learning Center, we believe that teachable moments happen throughout the day. Our thematic curriculum gives teachers and students alike just that opportunity. A majority of the morning is spent in group time and doing center-based activities. During Butterflies / Caterpillars week, activities may include writing words that start with a “B”, learning about the lifecycle of a butterfly, and journaling after an observation of a caterpillar. Teachers ensure that all children are developmentally ready for kindergarten as they graduate from preschool and get closer to the next stage of their lives.
School Age
Nothing gets a child through the day better than a good breakfast. At Stepping Stones Learning Center, school-age children are offered a healthy breakfast prior to boarding the bus to school. After school, children can work on homework one- on-one or participate in other activities that will keep their brain active throughout the summer. Many field trips are taken throughout the summer, and children attend several center-wide trips. We also offer cheerleading and t-ball camp, ending with a summer showcase. Children are active and engaged throughout the summer, while having a great time with their friends.
